OVERVIEW
In-Spirit Living should be our ultimate goal for it reflects our connection to our Source and that we are proceeding on our path of purpose. With In-Spirit Living we become an inspiration to ourselves and others. Yet, we have an ego that can cause us to have serious blockage. Join us on Sunday as we discuss the impact caused by our creation, the ego, and the “how” of In-Spirit Living.

Good morning. Good morning. I wanted everybody across the world to hear you. That was good. That was good. I appreciate that. There is so much. This is the month of April I got on my spring dress, y’all. It’s, I’m, I’m flowers. I’m wa walking around flowers and I just want to say there’s lots going on this month. Lot’s going on. I got a woman’s conference going on. Gold Rush. Check it out if you haven’t checked it out. It’s a lot of, and, and I was talking to Jason, Jason and Jason and I were talking about We are enough, and the conference theme is, I Am Enough. So I just love how God just throws things up in you and says, you’re, you’re heading in the right way. You’re heading in the right trail. And then everybody, I don’t know what you are. I don’t care who you vote for.
Just vote. We have the government is on God’s shoulders, right? No. Is that right? That’s right. That’s what it says. But indeed, God has all of these representatives called people, uh, to help make things right. So do do what you gotta do. This is April full of life, full of new flowers, full of whatever going on. And we have in this month, thanks to Reverend Amy. Good morning, Reverend Amy. And, and to the leadership here we have a theme called Embracing a New Consciousness. Embracing a New Consciousness. Now I have a lesson. My message is titled, in Spirit Living, because in spirit living, if you do it, you will embrace a new consciousness in Spirit. Living requires for me this morning to share with you three things, recognizing or as, uh, Neil Donald Wash should say, recognizing the real, the real, not that stuff we make up called.
Anyway, I’ll get there. Two, re reactivating your relationship with the real. We can say God is. God is I am one with God, God and dwells. And yet we will spend no time with that God. We will act like that. God is nonexistent until our back is against the wall. And then on the south side, we say, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Okay. Uh, but, but we, we need to reactivate if we’re gonna look to, to embrace a new consciousness, if we’re gonna have some in spirit living called our life, I’ve gotta reactivate my relationship with God. And then I gotta practice the principle. Practice the principle. Did I say practice the principle? Practice the principle. It’s called, uh, what I call divine discipline. It’s divine discipline that we’ve gotta practice. So, so that’s what we’re gonna talk about for the next few minutes. How we can, doing those three things will have us move into, in spirit living and in spirit living, how that will move us into embracing a new consciousness.
But today is Palm Sunday. It’s Palm Sunday. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> and, and scripturally. Palm Sunday is a Sunday, not scripturally. We made it the Sunday before Easter. But scripturally, it’s where the master teacher, Jesus arrives in Jerusalem, arrives in that place called Jerusalem, which in us from a metaphysical stand, at least according to Philmore, probably Ernest Holmes too. But anyway, is that Jerusalem is the abiding consciousness of spiritual peace, which is the result of continuous realizations of spiritual power, tempered with spiritual poise and confidence. That’s, that’s a lot. That’s a, that’s what, that’s Jerusalem. And Jerusalem symbolizes the great nerve center, just back of the heart from this point. Spirit sins, its radiance to all parts of the body. Not just your physical body, but your body of affairs, your body, your everything about you, your being Spirit is sending out this radiance. And Jesus, Jesus symbolizes the I am identity, the Christ He is going to.
Jerusalem represents our taking the last step in the unfoldment preparatory to the final step. And the final step is when the ego, yeah, I finally mentioned that word. When the ego is entirely crucified, entirely crucified, I mean, it is crucified. And the Holy Spirit or Christ, or the indwelling God, whatever you wanna call that power triumphs Jesus. Writing the donkey into Jerusalem means the fulfillment of the time. When the spiritual, I am God, the Holy Spirit, however you address that, that being within us takes control. So Jesus riding that donkey and they have another, you know what a dunk is called, and I’m Jesus. Riding it into Jerusalem means the fulfillment of the time. When the spiritual I am within us takes control. We want that to happen. That’s about embracing a new consciousness. It takes control and lifts up, lifts up. And let, let all those animal forces all those erroneous thoughts, it lifts us up to spiritual mastery.
When the, I am, I’m gonna get back to the book in a minute, but I just wanna lay this. When the I am takes charge of the body, when the I am takes charge with the, when God, when you’re indwelling, God takes charge with the body. A new order of things is inaugurated, <laugh> a new, or you, you feel in love when you don’t even know that you feel in love. You felt that song that was sung because you, there’s a new order taking place. It had new meaning for us. When the I am takes charge, the vitality is no longer wasted through high and pure ideas. The whole consciousness is raised to a higher standard. And the hosannas of the rejoicing multitude and, and the spreading of the garments and, and the branches of the trees, they all represent our thoughts falling in line. It all represents our thoughts coming into where it is. And air consciousness is overcome.
It’s a state of mind where we can say, blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord. Blessed is each thought that comes as a thought from the divine, a thought from within, from the indwelling God in the name of the Christ. I can affirm I embrace the new consciousness in the name of the Christ. I can affirm that. Now, my reading of this passage, which was in truth, unity, I know some of you may know truth, unity.net. It’s, it’s, it’s a great precedent for today’s message of in spirit living. And the theme, embracing a new consciousness. Why am I saying that? Because in spirit living were that term I took from Dr. Wayne Dyer in his book, inspiration Your Highest Calling. It means simply inspirational, living, living as an inspiration, an inspiration to yourself, inspiration to everybody else. You’re living inspiration. It is there. Inspirational living where the Holy Spirit is the captain of the ship. Okay? The Holy Spirit, as my dad talks about, is the head of your household. The Holy Spirit is, is such that it, you’re in alignment. You’re pulled back wherever your physical, your intellectual, your ego kind of disappears. It’s back in alignment with our indwelling God. Hmm. The Christ, whatever you wanna call it. However, you can call it a tree, but just know what the power of it is. A great symbol of that.
It is reflected when as murdered writes, Jesus was lifted up onto the cross. That symbol of, of us into alignment and the ego being wiped out, symbolized by Jesus, lifting up on the cross and us being lifted up out of our ego, of us releasing the ego of us, letting the ego die, letting it go. Hmm. Let’s step back a little bit. At some point, each of us <laugh>, each of us chose to leave our full-time spiritual identity behind. I’m, I’m up in your book right now. My dad says at some point, and, and so does Wayne Dyer and so does Neil Donna wash. At some point you thought it had something to do with the mama and the daddy. Well, I guess those were the instruments, but indeed, at some point, you are being as, as, as John reminded me a little bit ago, you know, we are eternal. We’ve been, we, we’ve been in existence long before we decide to put on this thing called a body. Hmm. We say it, we kind of know it, but it’s true. So at some point, we chose to leave our full-time spiritual identity behind and take on our human form for our experience on earth.
Michael Murad has written, we believe that we separated from God, this is what Murder had rights, and then developed such an intense judgment about against ourselves, such fear, such guilt, such shame that resulted from the decision he continues to write that we manufactured the ego to act as a mental virus to help us forget our painful choice for separation. So we, we, we did, we stepped on a way. We said, I’m a take on a body. I got a earth journey to do. But then after we did it, it, it got so, the, the guilt and the pain we had to create this ego.
While Neil Donald Wash describes in his series of conversations with God, how many of you familiar with the conversations with God? Yeah. Yeah. I, I, I use that as much as I use the Bible. So don’t tell anybody. Okay? Um, Neil Donald Wash describes in his series of conversations with God that our journey to earth, uh, it was, it was intentional and it was good. It was, it was just what we decided to do. He goes into a full description of how we had this conversation. We were asking, we didn’t have to come here, we didn’t have to put on the body. We didn’t have to put on this costume, but we chose to because there was some expansion, something that we wanted that we didn’t have. Perhaps it was more learning about love. Maybe it was learning about hope. Maybe it was learning something that we needed to learn.
We wanted to learn. So Neil says, we just said, okay, I got this. I’m gonna find me a mom and daddy and come on through. And he explains a part of the process was our forgetting why we came, because if we didn’t forget why we came, we wouldn’t be able to get what we came here to get. You get that? Okay. So, so we came here to learn and, and to do something. And the eagle was created out of erroneous beliefs, thoughts, and feelings. Once we got here, once we got here, and then there’s Wayne Dyer, Wayne Dyer, who, who describes the ego as being developed by us. Once we got here, by those learning learnings from the folks who loved us, our mama and our daddies, they taught us unbeknownst even to them, to believe in illusions, to believe that we had to be good. We were separate from everybody.
I’m not part of you. And in that, to make sure we were excelling, we belonged and joined into club ego. I love that club ego because club ego, I was being with everybody else and we were all kind of hanging together, dealing with illusions. Are you with me? Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. But, but for us this morning, for us this morning, the common factor for all three of those, however you wanna say, we got here, the common factor is what’s important. You know what that is? The ego ain’t real. It’s not real. That’s right, John. It’s not real. I can say praise God. It’s not real. It’s not real. And, and, and to experience, to experience in spirit living, I have got to recognize that. I’ve got to understand that the eagle is not real. And, and, and <laugh>. And I need to get in alignment with the real.
I need to recognize, recognize I need to unlearn all that. My loving mom and daddy did the best they could in teaching me. I got to unlearn all that. I may have had to protect me from judgment and guilt or whatever. All that is illusion. I love Michael Beckwith says, that’s Maya. Is that what he calls it? It is just not real. I’ve gotta unlearn all of that. And I have to recognize as, as, as, as I said, my brother Neil, Donald Washington say, or we would say, recognize the real. I gotta recognize the real. And that’s the Holy Spirit or the Christ within my dad says, he, he, when you read the chapter, if you ever get to that chapter, it’s kind of like uhoh. It’s gonna be a boxing match or it’s gonna be, because you get this, they’re putting their gloves on the Holy Spirit and the ego, but the ego’s not real.
So it’s like boxing with the ghost. If you think you gotta box with anything, the ego, however, though it is not real, but we know how powerful our beliefs are, our erroneous beliefs, we know how they can put us in a jail cell, right? Don’t need a key, don’t need a a, a handcuff. Our own internal erroneous beliefs can tie us up. And that’s what the ego will often do. The ego will block our remembering that we are one with God, huh? It will block that. It will block us remembering that it will have us, this is what the eagle will do. Have us turning to the external instead of looking within for our answers. Yes. I, I got, I gotta call John to get my answer. When God said, well, what about me? I, I, I got, I gotta call Reverend Amy. God said, well, she’s good.
She’s a good, she’s a good tool. But why don’t you ask me who you should call? God tells us, God, I love, that’s a whole nother sermon. But God always is talking to us. God will tell us any and everything because God is always telling us any and everything. The eagle though, will put a block up as if we got stoppers in our ears and we won’t even hear. The eagle will enable us to shift, uh, such that, that from the recognition that we are missing our relationship with God. And start blaming people and start judging people and start saying stuff about people. If they’re not walking like we’re walking or talking like we are talking, we will start or either start using people, perceiving that what we’re missing is you. So you gonna be my friend, but only as long as I can use you.
That’s what the eagle does. And, and so we need to know if we’re going to experience in spirit living, it means that I want to live in a conscious relationship with the Holy Spirit. I want to be in and remain in an alignment with God. I gotta let the ego go in spirit. Living requires that I must recognize the Holy Spirit. God, I am as the real, as the real, as the center of my being, as the center of my, we say that, but do I really believe it? Because if I really believe I’m walking around with God, it is nothing for me to be afraid of. If I really believe I’m walking around with God, come on, bring it on, bring it on. If I really believe I’m walking with God, I can look at a situation, it can be chaotic, and in the midst of it, I can see me some peace.
Yes. That’s what happens when indeed I am living an in spirit experience. Hmm. Recognizing the real, recognizing the real. I recogniz God as love, peace, joy, and abundance. And at any moment, at any moment that I am not feeling those kinds of things, I know that I’m out of alignment and I am feeding my ego. Boy, I have to watch it When I’m watching the news, you are, I have to really watch it. I say, okay, God, we go, we’re watching it together. We’re watching. I’m, I’m getting some facts that I need to have, but I’m not expressing or feeling anything because I am knowing God all is in divine order. And I’m only seeing what I’m seeing. So you can tell me what I’m supposed to do because I can only feel love. God, please. I don’t wanna feel anything else. Cuz if I do, I know I’m moving away from you.
I’m moving away from you. Even though you are with me. I think I’m moving away from you. God, recognizing the real means. Remembering that I am one with the one that my mind and God’s mind. And I didn’t write this, but I believe it is synonymous. I am recognizing the real. And that means I know that my mind transcends limitations. My, did you hear me? My mind transcends limitations. When when’s the last time you said, oh, I, I can’t do that. I don’t even know the answer to that. How am I gonna, I’m not gonna ask anybody about technology. <laugh>. My mind transcends limitations. When I am, when I am recognizing the real, and I have absolute faith. This is really important. This is really important. This, this whole thing about I am enough when I am walking and recognizing the real. I have absolute faith in my ability to live on, to create, to do exactly what I’m called to do.
I’m not called to do anything on this earth that I have not been given the capacity to do. I will be told how to do it. If I listen, I will be told when to do it if I listen, and then I will be told, good job, job well done. If I listen, recognizing the real allows me to imagine what it feels like to have absolute faith, absolute faith, a complete absence of doubt. Come on a complete essence. That’s something good that that is a complete absence of doubt concerning my ability to create anything I place my intention on. That’s walking, that’s recognizing the real. It it is. I remember that God is always in us and we are always in God. We’re incapable of thinking limited thoughts. How sweet is that? Recognizing the real means that I never doubt that I came from an energy field of pure unlimited abundance.
That’s my source, that’s my creator. That’s where I came from. I’m recognizing the real and I act on this prosperity consciousness, recognizing the real. I know that prosperity continues to chase after me. Why? Because I am still in total harmony with my originating spirit, which is abundance and prosperity. Hmm. Recognizing the real is knowing that God is everywhere. This is really important. I need for you to hear this because you, you remember what Abraham was told be Abraham looked to the north and the east and whatever. Once he got rid of the baggage, that was, was, he was still tied to he, he was told, look everywhere. Because wherever you look, you can have and recognizing the real is recognizing God in that way and allows us to look wherever we look in every direction is possible for me at every moment because my consciousness happens within my mind.
I’m recognizing the real. Now, I can’t do that relying on my ego. I can’t do that. Relying on the external. Hmm. And, and in spirit living, which will guide me to, to a new consciousness. I’ve also have to, I’ve talked about dismantling the ego, but I’ve got to reactivate the relationship. I’ve gotta reactivate the re. Now, God has gone nowhere. God has never stopped loving me. God has never stopped communing with me. But what have I done? I, I love it. <laugh>. I had, I calculated at one point, I think I shared it here. If you prayed every morning, if you went to church every Sunday, and you even prayed every night, I think I calculated out of a 365 days, and I even gave you 15 minutes to pray. And most of us prayed six minutes, but 15 minutes to pray. I think I had calculated, and I don’t want, I don’t want tell no story, but I think it was like you would’ve spent 29 days with God out of 365.
Now, I dunno about you. I’ve been married, Lord, I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 50 years, right? Yeah, I know it. This is sweet too. Yet, if we’d only spent 29 days out of a year together before we got married, I wouldn’t be married probably. Okay? God communes with us all the time. God doesn’t take a break. God is forever talking to us, loving us, caring for us, comforting us. And the question is, are you communing with God? Are you re reactivating? Are you activating your relationship with that higher self? Of course, a miracle reads the Holy Spirit and the eagle are the only choices open to you. God created one <laugh>, so you cannot eradicate it. You made the other. So you can how, how, how, how can you get rid of the eagle so you can com reactivate your relationship with God?
You know how in the heart of of, of a course in miracles, it reads one of the best ways to awaken our true humility. And we wanna awaken true humility because that means we’ve turned within hu we don’t get true hum humility by looking externally. Okay? It doesn’t work that way, but we turn it within. He says one of the, to awaken our true hum humil humility and our connection to spirit is by opening our hearts and souls in an honest, vulnerable dialogue of prayer. I love that he said and reminded us of vulnerability. He’s talking about real prayer. He’s talking about honest prayer. Mead reminds us that we are as sick as the secrets we keep from God. Therefore, we should have no private thoughts. We would not give the Holy Spirit for healing. And in the course of miracles, it is made plain.
If you are willing to renounce the role of guardian of your thought system, and then open it to me. That’s the, that’s of course a miracle is talking to us. If you’re willing to do that, I will correct it very gently and lead you back to God. Reactivation of our relationship with God requires some honest prayer. Pure prayer. Don’t be ashamed. God knows. Anyway, so you might as well go and talk about it. Okay? And meditation. Yeah, meditation for the reactivation of our relationship with the Holy Spirit is a must. Meditation, intentional listening and quiet too. And for God. Some people will tell me, I can’t do it, I’ll fall asleep. I said, well, you’re trying to do it too long. Try for three minutes instead of 20. Hmm. Meditation is a listening that leads into the silence this morning. We, we, we could have had we if, I don’t know if you took advantage of, we had a powerful few minute meditation, the music team.
I I I was there. I didn’t wanna come back. Okay? I was there. Meditation means I’m listening. I’m even a guided meditation. Someone out here may be talking, but you are listening to your higher self and it’s sweet and you come back to your human form to do what you’re doing in a new way, in a, in a, in a refreshed way. Yeah. We, we, we, the meditation that leads you into the silence, meditation and prayer in spirit, living however, can be blocked by our lack of patience. We don’t hear back from God quickly. We think mm, no response equals failure. Right? When the full shift to in spirit living may just take a little bit longer. We’ve been walking around with the ego for a minute. We’ve been walking around with the ego, and so we’ve gotten into some bad habits. Give yourself a break.
Trust the process, pray, meditate, move into the relationship. Allow yourself, be intentional and don’t assume that you have this relationship. Check it this afternoon. Be open to yourself to receive from the spirit a number of ways through your thoughts, through your dreams, through signs. Look and open yourself up to receive from spirit. Spirit will use lots of different things. If we are aware that spirit is communing with us, reactivating your relationship. One of the last things I wanna mention before I get to the third thing, and that is practice, practice, practice is pay attention. I guess that’s a, just pay attention. I’ve kind of emphasized it because we don’t pay attention to God. We kind of, mm. Kind of, yeah. God’s here. I believe in God, I’m following God. But pay attention, be be very mindful that if, if things are flowing, I I don’t, I don’t find it at all.
Um, coincidental that John said something to me where we were sitting that was so very powerful, he didn’t even know why he was saying it to me. As a matter of fact, he wasn’t sure he should say it to me, <laugh>, but it was so on the money that was God using him. Because I need a little comforting, and I’ll tell you what it was. My sister left me left and some of you know it last August, she was my baby sister. And so I was really wanting her to be in spirit with me today. I wanted, because I just was missing her. And, and John, when I, I just kind of mentioned that to John, John said, well, you know, we are eternal beings. And it was so good to hear that because I know it and I know she’s here with me. But that was God using John.
Think John thinks he said it. That was God. <laugh>. Okay, I wanna, I wanna get la last thing I wanna mention in this whole in spirit, living for a consciousness is practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice. I say practice, practice, practice, practice. God’s laws practice God’s laws. What are those loving thoughts? Loving feelings, loving words, loving actions. In this season in which we are living, we can lose that love. And that’s why I we’re so glad to hear the song. We can lose hope. We can lose it if we are not aligned with God. If we are not activating our relationship with God, if we are not in spirit living. So we have a a new consciousness. Practice. Practice practice. Continually acknowledging what you are. Look in the mirror before you go out and say, I am God, please do it. God will love it.
And you will too. And your day will reflect it. Think thoughts with God. Did I say think thoughts about God? No. No. I said think thoughts with God. That means you’ve gotta have done some meditating. You’ve gotta, you’ve opened yourself up to allow the spiritual, the holy, the phenomenal thoughts to come through. And you’re thinking them. You’re thinking ’em. So when someone is, has irked everybody in the office, you can sit there and say, that’s a child of God and really mean it. From the bottom of your toes, you’re thinking thoughts with God. Practice receiving blessings in every situation. Remember <laugh> meta physicians, if it’s in your face <laugh>, guess who brought it there? And there’s a blessing in there. There’s a blessing for you. So, so you wanna, you wanna see the blessing you got, you may have to look through the chaos. Don’t, I’m not, don’t get me wrong.
You may have to list, look through the junk and the mess and the what, all the stuff you don’t like. But there is a blessing. And why? Because God is everywhere, evenly present. Unconditional forgiveness. You gotta practice it. I went through a series of that about six years ago and, and it was hard. And my intellect and eagle didn’t want to hear any parts of it, but I was able to move forward and to do it. And the way you can do it best is by being in the now. Remember, be in the now. The only re hold you holding on on forgiveness. That’s cuz you’re living in yesterday. Be in the now. Be in the now.
There are other ways to practice, practice, practice, practice the principles. But I’m gonna, I’m gonna close on one more <laugh>. I don’t know that that’s a bunch of mamam. So close on. One more stay detached from outcomes. Live in the present moment. Stay detached from outcomes. Yeah, we’re all gonna do our best. We’re all gonna work. We’re responsible beings. We got a God hanging with us and, and working through us. But if an outcome is not as you have deemed it should be, be careful. Be careful because you wanna live in the present moment. Know that I, I think sometimes about, what was his name? Thomas Edison. If he had quit, cuz the outcomes weren’t like he wanted them to be, we would not be sitting here with lights right now. You keep moving. You keep letting God guide you to your next step. Practice.
Practice. You’re gonna recognize the real. You’re gonna reactivate your relationship with the real and you’re gonna practice practice God’s laws so that you’ll be having experience after experience of in spirit living, which will give you the opportunity to embrace a new consciousness. You got it? Amen. Amen. Amen. And amen. I want us to close off with this prayer. It’s from the author of, uh, Michael Michael Murad. That’s his first name, right? Murda. Um, and it just requires you to, to close your eyes and, and, and, and just repeat silently. It’s very simple, very, you know it, but it just says, I finished reading that chapter, it became very on point for me. So invite you to take a deep breath and have your feet comfortably placed, relaxing your body. I know some of the things I said may have caused a little bit of tension. Let it go. Let your face muscles relax, be still and know I am God. Be still and know I am God. Be still and know I am God. Be still and know I am.
Be still and know,
Be still, and know I am,
Be still and know that I
Be still and know I am, be still. And no I be still. And no I be still. And no, I, I
Am.
Be still and no
Be still and no
Be still and no
Be still and no
Be still and no be still, be still,
Be
Still. B
B B B,
And so it is.
And so it is.
