OVERVIEW
Are you aware of the difference between your possibility and your potential? They may stand very close to each other; yet thoughts moving in the wrong direction or being fixed can create a challenge to your ultimate manifestation. Bridging is the tool that can ensure your success in recognizing your potential.

Give yourselves a hand. Look at when I was six. My daddy, who’s the best daddy in all of the world, he has moved to the other side, continues to be the best daddy in all the world. And when I was six, he loved to dance too. And my mother didn’t like to dance so much. So when we were at home and having dinner and music was playing, he loved jazz. He would turn the jazz on and grab his six year old girl and we would dance and dance and dance. And that’s the story of my daddy. He is a wonderful, wonderful being. How you all doing this morning? Good morning. Good morning, good morning. I got a book here. I just wanna lift a book up. If you haven’t gotten it, you might wanna get it, cuz it has a lot, a lot, a lot.
Did I say a lot, A lot of ways to help us do what we want to do. Why you’re sitting here this morning. Why are you sitting here this morning? You’re sitting here, I’ll tell you why you’re sitting here this morning because you don’t wanna do that, which causes us to really be in pain. You don’t wanna forget who’s and who you are. You don’t wanna forget that almighty creator. You don’t want to forget that. The one that created you and and made you a living soul. That’s what somebody’s Bible said. So, so today we’re gonna talk about from possibility to your potential, from possibility to your potential. You see, there is a lot of possibilities, a lot of them. A lot of them. And, and what I love is this tool, or maybe it should be a tool kit called Bridging that Mary Morrisey has written about because bridging, bridging that it, it from an abstract point of view, bridging takes you from your possibilities to your potential.
And we’re gonna talk about that. I want you to work with that. Well, what is she talking about? Your possibilities to your potential bridging is that toolkit or that tool, however you wanna describe it. With, with, with numerous tools to be used to correct, to correct, to connect, excuse me, to connect your desire or how you wanna live life. Like you love it. How you wanna live with, with the belief that it’s possible. You see, see, we have a, a dream. We have a a life. We, we, we have this and, and, and we’re gonna play some imagination. And we have a phenomenal gift, a power call imagination, where we can imagine the best, the sweetest, the best relationship, the best financial situation, the best, uh, professional situation. Yeah, we can imagine it. Yet, yet, uh, too often, too often, we do not believe it’s possible, huh? And, and what about the, the, the tools that we may need to take step by step by step to the point of actually creating. And and when I say creating it simply means my creating this morning, and we we’re gonna talk about this, it means taking what you’re thinking from where you are to where you want to be. Because you do know creation is always a two-step process, right?
Uhhuh, we should pass out a piece of paper so we can have a test right now, <laugh>, it’s a two step process. That that first creation process has gotta be clear and and detailed in the mind’s eye, in your mind. It’s gotta be very clear. If, if it’s not clear there, it will never, it will never be made manifest and be shown forth in your life experience. I love God. I love God always says yes, but God, if you don’t give God something to say yes to, God’s not gonna force anything on you. Do you understand that? So, so it’s important. We, this tool, this, this bridging that I’m talking about, it takes us, uh, from where we are in our mind to where we wanna be. Uh, so that, so that then the second creation part, that that part that we sh let use to show up in our lives can show up. Yeah. From possibility to real potential. You know, Reverend Amy, last week I saw it. I wasn’t here. I had to work somewhere else at Christ Universal Temple <laugh>, where I’m from, by the way. So I, I, I need to need to mention that. But, uh, this is really my home away from home. I love it. I love it. Yeah. Y’all put your hands together on that one. Yeah.
And, and she said she, she made you do some work. I loved it. I, I was said, oh, I’m glad I’m not there. I can just sit and watch it and kind of do it sneakily. But she made you do some work and some of you did the work and some of you therefore on the road to, to living the life that you love. That’s that she helped you move on that road, get you started. And if you didn’t do it at, at, at at service, you were supposed to do it during the week. And for those of you who are online, I know all of you did it, right? Mm-hmm. <affirmative> to manifest your desire. So today we’re going to use this bridging concept to move along the path to living what you love. That’s what Mary Morrisey talks about, besides dreams, making dreams come true. She calls it living what you love. Say that Living. I like somebody did it. I, that’s right. Living what I love. Say it again.
Living what I
Love. Now I want you to say it like you really, really understand what that means. I’m gonna see, I’m gonna watch and see if you’re saying it that way. Living like gone on living.
What I
Love, uh, some of you I see, I see the smiles gonna break open for those who really get into it. Because that’s how you feel in, in my early new thought education, when I first got into the movement, I was taught this truth, which many of us were taught. What you think about, you bring about what you think about, you bring about. Now, what was not discussed very much was what it meant to think about. Okay? Just what it was like, what you think about, you bring about. Okay? But, you know, as I read part two of, of Mary Morrisey’s book, brave Thinking, the meaning to think about became patently clear. Uh, it, it, it it, for me, it’s the understanding the difference between possibilities and potential. Now, stay with me. Possibilities. God is so awesome. God has created all kinds of possibilities. There are all, you name it, there are possibilities of all kinds.
Unlimited goodness. Is that not right? There is unlimited goodness with God and, and, and substance. I love Johnny Coleman used to call it doe that there’s that substance where you can create all kinds of things, uh, unlimited possibilities. And then God created each one of us, God created each one of us and purposed us. You have breath in your body and that means you have a purpose. You have breath in your body. That means you have a purpose. And, and, and so God purposed us and, and, and with things to do. Now, when I focus on a possibility as directed by my higher power, not directed by Jay-Z, not directed by Oprah, not direct, but directed by my higher power. When I do that, then I come in and I hone in on what possibility is mine to be my potential. Do you understand what I’m saying?
What possibility is mine to be my potential? And once I am first and focused and, and really looking at that possibility that then becomes my potential, then I must commit. I must commit. That is holding that focus, holding that focus, holding that focus. That’s what committing is. So that possibility indeed is and becomes my potential. And if it, if I do not allow my focus to continue, it’s just like that hammer and that nail my potential will become diluted. And I will not move in the direction of living the life that I love. Do you understand what I’m saying? I have a purpose. God has directed me to that purpose. And God has also given me the ability through my imagination and my mind to think on those thoughts that will help me put all the detail that’s needed.
I do a gold rush Women’s conference. And today I’m not pushing it because you got little time to go before you have to register all you can register now if you wanted to, but let me get back to it. People, I didn’t, you know, part of what this book helped me to understand, because I used to tell people everything we do with that is God’s idea, everything. And people always kind of look at me like, mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Yeah. This helped me to understand that’s exactly why. Even the name of it, what happens, how it unfolds, what, who’s there. And that’s because I am focusing on that potential to enable women to recognize there and live out of their intrinsic greatness. That’s what my purpose is. That’s what I’m supposed to do. And whenever, and there’s been a time or two where I’ve been sidetracked and I’ve looked at, oh, something like, I just wanna get a lot of people there. It doesn’t work. And who can I blame? Just like that. Hammer on that nail. When my attention gets polluted, get unfocused. My life is unfocused. That particular aspect becomes kind of crazy.
Your potential is what you’re purposed your God within will take you there. And when you trust and stay there and commit to putting that details on it, dressing it up, doing what is to be done for it to manifest in your life, that’s what’s happening now. There are at least 999 things that could block your focus. Okay? At least causing you to be sidetracked. So you may need to use tools that are a part of bridging or a part of bridging the art of mentally moving from your old life into a new one. I wasn’t always doing what I do. I had to use some tools to stay there. Cause sometimes it’s hard and I could just be distracted.
And then I would perhaps moving, uh, go back to seeing the millions of possibilities. I have been identified. I’ve identified God has identified for me my potential. But, but sometimes it’s easy to just go back to seeing the millions of things to do right? Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, I see a smile or two. You understand what I’m saying? And, and, and, and, and I have to bring myself back and focus on the one, focus on my purpose with a commitment to continuing focusing. So, so you recognize this parti possibility as your potential. You think about what your potential is right now. If you had to recognize what God has led you and you, and you’ve been kinda looking at it and saying, mm, just think about that. You, you recognize this possibility as your potential, your desire as a life you love living. Now, before we can actually build that life, we love build that dream. In the first creation, I told you there’s two steps in creation. The first step, right? We must systematically expand our thinking. Mary Morrisey lays it out nicely. We must systematically expand our thinking. Uh, you’re gonna systematically expand the thinking, bridging between what you truly desire and what you believe possible. I want you to hear that what you truly desire and what you believe possible, don’t tell me you always believe possible that which God has directed you to do.
And that’s when you might use the tools in the toolkit of bridging. Last week, Reverend Amy introduced the terms common hour thinking and brave thinking. I wanna just kind of repeat them and go over it a little bit. Common. Our thinking according to Mary Morrissey, is it focuses on what is probable. Now what is probable is usually easy and not necessarily nothing to do with your purpose. Okay? Common our thinking. Listen, <laugh>, you can know if you’ve been doing some common or hard thinking, cuz it sets limitations based on circumstances. You know what your purpose is, but I don’t have enough money or they won’t help me, or I can’t do that. I’m not tall enough, short enough, black enough, white enough, round enough. I, you name your limitation. Common I are thinking says that you know your purpose, and yet you set limitations based on circumstances. Our thinking relies on prior experiences and unhealthy paradigms to devise answers, unhealthy paradigms to devise answers. It got to part of the bridging process, I love it, is getting rid of all those old paradigms that put you right where you are just alongside your purpose instead of in your purpose. Okay?
And command are thinking, allows fear to grow bigger than believing allows fear to grow bigger than believing. Hmm. While brave thinking, that’s the other kind of thinking that Mary Morrisey uses, is expansive. Is expansive. It require, well, there’s two things brave thinking really does. Now we learn this as new thought students that God has already created everything our blessing is already created. Okay? Uh, you are good, my good, you God. It’s ready there. And, and, and, and, and when you are a brave thinking soul, when you’re not allowing your circumstances, when you’re not allowing what they think, what they say to control you, you’ll remember God has made it. Not only has God made it, I’m gonna live in a state of receptivity. I’m gonna live in a state of receptivity and I’m going to believe, okay, I’m going to believe and, and brave thinking, are those things brave thinking, remembering God’s done it already. All you have to do is play with God. You know, don’t, don’t play with everybody else. Play with God. Stay God. Lean on God. Pray with God. When you wanna get sidetracked, say, God, here’s my purpose. Here’s what will help me live my life that I love. Here’s what will help me do why I’m here.
Brave thinking requires you to face your fears. And oh, I love Mary Morrison. She says, you gotta befriend them as one of the keys to bridging. You’ve gotta befriend your fears. Have you ever heard of that before? I said, what is she? I I had not. And I’ve been in this stuff for a long time and preached a lot and read, befriending my fear. Befriending my fear. I’m gonna come back to that because that is a very important point of we, we can do that by systematically expanding the thinking to bridge the gap between what we truly desire and what we believe bridging requires us focusing our attention. That’s why that statement that that was Read Don, read Don, yeah. Good, good, good. That Don read it was so important to me when I sent that in because bridging, getting from what I want so that I can have the right mind, the right, if you will, studio, this is a studio. I imagine I have to have the right studio to create what it is that I want. And, and, and so, so Bridging does that and and I focus my attention on that as one of the things is as the end focus on the end from the very beginning. Okay? Okay. She says, you gotta notice what you’re noticing. You gotta notice what you’re noticing.
I, I love that. Notice what you’re noticing. There’s a hundred things going on. And what are you noticing? Are you noticing that which will take you a step further to do what you have said you desire? Or are you noticing somebody else’s stuff and being jealous? Or you’re noticing some something from thinking about yesterday and being regretful? Oh yeah, what are you noticing? Notice what you’re noticing and focus on living your dream as a reality. Living your dream as a reality. Living your dream as a reality for when you are focusing. You know, I, one of the things about, you said children, children disregard so-called real. What’s real and what’s not. Have you ever children really play? I mean, with the technical stuff, perhaps some of ’em don’t play as much as they used to. I have a tee set, a tee set that my great grandmother gave me a little tee set.
Every, anybody know what a little tee set is? Yeah. And, and I can remember playing with that tee set and you would’ve sworn, wow, this lady’s having this fantastic party and she’s gonna bring these people in and it’s gonna be so much fun. And when they get in, no one’s there but me. Wow. She has all this company cuz she is talking to everybody. Understand. We need to let our mind do what our mind can do. And we have to have our dream as a reality, wiring our brain for manifesting that dream. Wiring our brain for manifesting that dream. I can tell you now, I have a big T set and I do have people in and we do have fun. So that was part of what my dream was, wiring my brain so that my dream will be manifested. Bridging requires that we tune our brain to a frequency of higher vibration. Really important. It means that I’m going to be meditating, I’m going to be praying, I’m gonna wake up. I love Wayne Dyer’s practice. I now wake up every morning and say, thank you, thank you, thank you. Before I, before I even think about what I’m thinking for. But I just say thank you, thank you, thank you. All of these things are, are taking my brain to a frequency of higher vibration.
I wanna come back to being able to befriend fear instead of being paralyzed by it. What she explained so wonderfully Mary Morrissey, is that you’ll only reach your potential. You’ll only live your purpose for real. <laugh>, once you step outta your comfort zone, you gotta step outta your comfort zone. If you’re in your comfort zone, that’s nice, but that’s not your full purpose. And, and, and she says, it made me think as if here’s my comfort zone. And, and the moment I’m getting close to stepping out, what pops up? Fear. Fear. Because I’m, I’m moving outta my comfort zone. But the point is not to be concerned or afraid or paralyzed by that fear, but let that fear walk with you because you now know it’s just devising you. Uhuh you’re about to step into your purpose. You’re about to take a step toward why you are here.
And it’s okay. It’s okay because guess what? In the midst of any difficult situation, whatever fear may tell you about, guess what’s in the middle of it? God, God as she says, when you find yourself, when you have stepped out and you find yourself in the middle of a unexpected, can I just say mess? You must at that point recognize there is a blessing in there. There is a blessing in there. And the only way you going to get to that blessing is if you look at that, whatever you think it is, and you keep looking until you see God, until you see the blessing. It really is. Are you familiar with Golden Key? Um, I can’t think of the author. Come on. Some of you new thought teachers. Yes, yes, yes. It’s like using the golden key and you are in the middle of a, of a crappy situation and you are walking toward your purpose.
You’ve gotta look at that and golden kid recognizing that as long as you are being in tune and in touch with God, you’re gonna be all right. You gonna be all right anyway. But it may take you circuitous if you get out of touch and out of tune with God. So, so, so that, that is that stepping into, uh, outside of your comfort zone. Fear is gonna pop up. Fear is gonna pop up. Also, this bridging requires, and I mentioned it before and I should have watched my time. But anyway, we’ll see. Um, this bridging requires us to let go of old paradigms. Paradigms. As a matter of fact, um, someone said something yesterday and I wrote it down and I wanted to to to read it off to you, but uh, hmm. I must be in my phone. But get rid of them. If any old paradigm that you have, let it go.
If it makes you feel really comfortable, huh? I had to let go of a, of a paradigm at, at a point in time that somebody didn’t like me because of the color of my skin I had, I had to say, it’s alright if they don’t like me. I had to be OK with that. I had to let it go. I had to say Mm. And get into a new paradigm like, oh, I’m bringing so much good stuff, it’s gonna be okay. We’re gonna be okay. And it, quite frankly, it does work cuz that particular person now is one of my best. It was my roommate in college when I first met her, but any one of my best friends, um, getting rid of old paradigms. And, and, and, and one final thing bridging requires us to, to, and you’ve heard this before, but we, we, we hear it and then, then do we practice it?
How to turn so-called failures into a stepping stone. How to turn so-called failures into a stepping stone. At some point, I, if I were gonna send you back home, do some homework, go back 10 years and look at something that you just knew was a failure and see how you were blessed by it. Okay? There are no failures otherwise we would not have a light bulb. Okay? Everybody get wise said that <laugh>, there are none. There’re only stepping stones. There’re only, as as my son who is an actor, would tell you every time there’s a no to an audition. That means I’m one step closer to a yes. There are no failures. They are stepping stones. And you have to wire your brain to understand that, to be able to move forward and to live your purpose. Hmm. Remind yourself to begin with the end in mind for what you truly desire and, and, and, and want.
Uh, you gotta look at that. Let your brain be like that little girl in her tea party. It’s so real that whatever the facts and circumstances are, you know, you can move beyond them. You can move beyond them. There are a couple other things I wanna mention about bridging. Hmm. Every adversity has within it the seed of an equal or greater benefit. That’s Napoleon Hill. I’m gonna read it again, Napoleon, cuz you thought I had written it. Now, you know, Napoleon Hill wrote it. Listen, every adversity has within it the seed of an equal or greater benefit. That is true, y’all. That is true. Get a hold of that. Let that soak your brain with that. And, and how do you see the good? How do you see the greater benefit? As is written by Mary Morrisey in, in brave Thinking and in the essence that was lived by Nelson Mandela. You are one thought away from transforming a situation into a positive or negative. One thought, one thought away from that.
Couple other things. This bridging requires this bridging. Remember, we’re bridging. We’re we’re moving. We’re letting our imagination roll. But it’s rolling in such a way that I’m wanna get to the end of where I’m starting. For I am purpose. I am here on purpose. I have a reason and I’m gonna allow my imagination to use those thoughts from God that will take me there so that I believe it. This bridge, this is not manifesting yet. This is just really believing it and detailing it in your mind. Forgiveness, she says, is a necessity for believing that our desire is possible. Forgiveness is a necessity for believing that our desire is possible. So it’s key right now. Right now, if, if you have anyone to forgive, starting with the man or woman in the mirror that you see, you need to do that. We have been told this in every language, every writer, every meta physician, everybody will tell you forgiveness will put a block there.
You will be off. So off that your purpose, that your real reason for being here just can’t get around. It’s a block. I have, I have reasons why, because forgiveness is a love gift to ourselves. Forgiveness means I love me more than I love vengeance. Okay? That’s what forgiveness means. Forgiveness is, is feeling my painful emotions as I let go of them feeling my pain. Yo, they’re painful. I, I had to work for one point in time about three and a half years on a forgiveness because it was painful what the person was saying, which was so untrue. But I did it because I believe forgiveness is a block that will block your stuff. Forgiveness is moving on, not necessarily forgetting, but it is moving on beyond it. Forgiveness is accepting myself and others as expressions of God. If I’m accepting myself as an expression of God, I can forgive me because I know that I am perfect holding complete, even though my personality is sick.
Okay? Forgiveness is for the person while releasing power tied to the act. Okay? And the last one for my, for my little card, I’m gonna say no two more. Forgiveness is a journey to freedom you. Free yourself up so that I can be as God purposed me to be. Okay? But <laugh> forgiveness is a continuing process. If it pops up and the situation or the person makes you mad. Yeah. Haven’t completed your forgiveness. Okay? Forgiveness. She says, remember the first thing according to Mary Morrissey about forgiveness, is that I have forgiveness work to do. I must admit that I have forgiveness work to do, say that I work to do, to do. Some of you all kind of said it, okay?
I can’t do it alone. I love that. Even though forgiveness is this big thing that you need to do to block up and clear the pathway so you can walk straight to your purpose, walk straight and create what, whatever that love relationship, create that professional relationship. Create whatever it is that you want. But you can’t do it alone. Forgiveness requires, I will tell you, I call it just a plain old Holy Spirit gathering. Cuz if indeed me and spirit are not working together, forgiveness doesn’t work intellectually. You think your ego wants you to forgive somebody? No, no. Your ego is saying, they stepped on my toe. I’m gonna step on theirs. Okay? And forgiveness. She says, I must forgive myself. I must forgive myself.
Now. Now we’re we, we are. I’m closing up with now. Now, now is what you have to be concerned with. Everything is moving now. If you are looking to the past, you’re gonna be dealing with some regret. If you’re looking to the future, you’re gonna be anxious. If I’m in now, and I can know that what I am doing now is, is going to do what I want done. I don’t have to worry about the future. Now is very important. Knowing now I have a thing that I wrote, but I’m not gonna read it all. I’m gonna, uh, close. But I I wanna just read the last section. I am my of now. It is created solely by my power. I take back my power from time. I take back my power from facts. I know I am my power. I proclaim my truth now. I am joy, I am peace. I am prosperity. I am that. I am, I am now. And with knowing that I can absolutely be assured that the tools I need, God will give me. I will create in a perfect fashion that first step of creation. And indeed, I will manifest the life that I love. That’s it.
So we’re gonna pray a prayer. I’m gonna invite you if you want, close your eyes and that power, God that you gave us, oh gracious God, that power of imagination. We right now, thank you. We lift you up. We praise your holy name knowing that you are and therefore we are. And that power of imagination, God, I can use the thoughts, the ideas that flow from you to me, through me. God, I can use those ideas and, and, and be, and do exactly God as you would have me be and do I thank you, God for that. I thank you for our relationship. I’m one with you. I’m one with you. I God, I, I thank you for making me in that way. I am one with you. And I will forever look to you and lean on you and therefore be comforted by you. God, thank you for cleansing. Thank you for the spirit to allow me to forgive. Thank you God, for ultimately, ultimately praising your holy name for God as I am here, as I am purpose. It is all for you. The glory shall be given, God all for you, the praise to be given, all for you, God. And so we thank you, we thank you God for this day. We thank you, God for this, this time, this moment, for this collective consciousness that we have right here as we empower each spiritual spirit recognizing you, God
Recognizing you, God, take a deep breath. Take a deep breath and recognize the powerful Almighty God. Take a deep breath and recognize your oneness with this God. Yes. And another deep breath and affirm that I am open and receptive God to all of the ideas flowing through me for me to live God as you would have me live. Thank you God. Thank you God. Thank you God. Let everybody say thank you, God. Thank you God. Now with a smile on your face, say thank you God. And so it is. Thank.
