PROSPERITY IS IN YOUR FLOW – Rev. Roderick Norton

OVERVIEW

Are you anxious for something to happen or are you working with Divine timing? You have time to experience the good you are desiring. It is important that your timing is in sync with the Divine flow and your energy is focused on what is necessary for the moment.

In this video, Rev. Roderick Norton discusses the concept of prosperity and being in the flow of the universe. He emphasizes the importance of being in sync with God’s timing and trusting the journey. Norton shares his personal experience of becoming a minister and how he learned to trust the divine flow. He encourages listeners to let go of anxiety and instead embrace the prosperous heart, which matches its pace to God’s and trusts in the abundance of the universe.

Rev. Roderick Norton (00:09):

The change is going to come. Good morning, Cityside. How are you feeling this morning? Are you sure? Let me know. How are you feeling this morning? Alright,

(00:27):

This is a prosperity moment for all of us as a prosperity moment for Cityside. You’re kicking off your campaign today and one of the things I have learned is about being a cheerful giver and that when we give, make sure we’re doing it cheerfully when we give. It’s okay to clap when you give. It’s okay to shout when you give because I didn’t intend on sand, but it’s actually helps you to get into the flow, helps you get into the flow. But I’m going to turn in my card. Reverend Amy, good to be here. I’m going to turn my card from the empowerment center and with our pledge and I’m happy I got a couple of my members and board members here and I’m sure they’re okay with what I’m pledging. So we’re all good.

(01:33):

So good morning once again, Cityside. It’s so good to be here with you to share with you this morning. You have been on a two month journey, I’m told exploring the prosperous heart, right during your first month, you looked at your beliefs and your habits around prosperity as you made some personal adjustments so you could be more open to prosperity, who’s looking to be more open to prosperity. So this month there’s a slight shift that you’re making where you begin to learn to focus your energy on moving forward in prosperity. So I want to spend some time with you this morning dealing with the chapter on velocity. And my talk this morning is prosperity is in your flow. Prosperity is in your flow. Much of what happens to us in life has to do with timing. And normally we operate on two times. We operate on our timing and we operate on God’s timing.

(02:38):

And the difference is really like night and day. The universe is always looking to supply me abundantly, but I can only receive it if I’m in the flow. One of the ways I give ’em the flow is by putting my own time aside and begin to work with God’s timing. Too often we block our own good. Have you ever blocked your own good? Yeah. Too often we block our own good because we want to do things our way and in our timing because we feel that we know what is best. We know what is best. And way too often this is done without any consultation with God. God is nowhere in the mix. We don’t go to God, we don’t talk to God. We just say, I know what’s best, so let me go by my time and let me go by my ways and let me get this thing done.

(03:37):

But sometimes in life we just need to slow down. We just need to slow down a bit in order to get into a different flow. In order to get into God’s flow, sometimes we just need to slow down because the universe is saying that you are out of sync with me right now, the universe. I need you to get in sync with me right now. Right now I just need you to slow down just a little bit so that you can get in the flow. And other times, other times it’s not a matter of us slowing down to get into flow, but sometimes the universe says that I need you to speed it up a little bit to get into the flow.

(04:23):

So this is all about the velocity in life. Prosperity doesn’t happen because you are forcing your will, but prosperity happens when you are in sync in the flow and with the flow of the universe. When you are in sync with the flow of god’s will, prosperity just doesn’t happen because you are forcing something to happen. Prosperity comes to us more freely and flows to us more freely when we are in the flow of the universe. Timing, have you ever thought yourself just working and working and working and it didn’t seem like you were making much progress? See, this happens to all of us from time to time, but then God sometimes just simply steps in and says, you are working too hard. I don’t need you to work as hard as you’re working. You’re working too hard because you are working right now. You are working without me and as long as you’re working without me, you’re working too hard. But if you can just slow down and if you can just listen, if you can just get in sync, I’ll put you in a different flow. I need you to slow down my child so that you can get into a different flow. I need you to flow with me so I can flow through you. I need you to flow with me so I can flow through you.

(05:56):

Prosperity I flows to us more freely when we are in the divine flow and when we are in alignment with God and allowing God to show us how it is done. Sometimes we want to sit down and talk to the universe or talk to God or talk to the divine flow or talk to source whatever term you want to use. Sometimes we want to just sit down and we want to give the directions. Okay, okay, this is what I need, this is when I need it, and this is what I need you to do in order for me to have what I need. Now. This is us talking to the universe, this is us talking to God. And sometimes I think the universe, now this is just me, sometimes I think the universe just sits back and says, oh yeah, that’s what you need. That’s when you need it. That’s how you want it. That’s what you think is best and laughs.

(07:11):

When in all actuality it is us needing to become more centered, us needing to, needed to come into the divine flow when it’s us that needs to come to God and say, okay, what do you need me to do? How do you need me to do it? What is it that I need to do so that I can be so I can receive that what you have for me, I’m ready to get into your flow because my flow simply takes too long. My flow has too many bumps in the road. My flow, I’m willing to give up my flow for your flow because your flow is much better and much greater than the flow that I’ve been flowing in.

(08:05):

Your velocity or your flow is about being in harmony with the universe and trusting the journey, trusting the journey because the journey that you’re on, when you’re in the divine flow, that journey might take you places that you did not anticipate in going that journey might take you down some roads that you did not anticipate going down that journey. My personal journey as a minister was all about me being in the flow. I didn’t know how things would turn out and I’ve learned that this flow works for each and every part of our lives. I first decided that I wanted to become a minister. I didn’t really know what it took. I didn’t really know the ins and outs of it, but there was something inside of me that was simply telling me that I need you to take the next step because because I had already taken the class, I already become a spiritual teacher, had done that for a couple of years and something inside of me was just simply saying that I need you to take the next step now I need you to take the next step. And so at that particular time, I didn’t really know that I want to be a minister, but something inside of me was saying, I want you to go and register now for ministerial classes. I need you to go now so that you can see what it’s all about. So I said, okay.

(09:45):

I went and talked to my minister who at the time was Reverend Dr. Johnny Coleman told her what this urging I had. And she said, okay. She said, okay, why don’t you go ahead and begin the process, begin taking the classes. So I filled out the application, I enrolled and still not knowing whether I was going to become a minister or not, but I was like, let me just go on this next step to see where it’s going to take me. So I began taking classes and as I began taking classes, more and more stuff opened up to me. I say this for a reason because when you begin to get into the flow of prosperity, what will happen? Say you have to say yes, you have to take that first step. And then as you take that first step, which we’ll find is that more and more things will then begin to open up to you.

(10:38):

All the answers will not come to you immediately or all at once. You have to begin to say yes to the universe. And as you say yes to the universe, then more and more will open up to you. I said yes to the whole thing about becoming a minister. I was beginning to put myself in the divine flow. So as I was beginning to put myself in the divine flow, more and more opened up to me and I went through all the classes and the whole program, which took about three and a half years. So at the end of the process, I went before what they call the l and O, the Licensed Ordination Committee, and they drilled me. And at that particular time, and I was a little upset at the time when I went before the board because I was sitting outside, I had a schedule two o’clock appointment, I was sitting outside for a extra two hours. I think they didn’t see me about four o’clock because they were running behind with the interviews of others. And I went and think is the night before I, I’m up study and I’m up trying to remember everything that I should remember. And so the day of I’m like, okay, God, it’s not about me.

(12:01):

Everything that I need to know I already know is a matter of trusting what I know and the I I’m talking about is the big I and not the little I. Me trusting that I’ve gone on this journey, trusting the process, trusting the journey, trusting the flow. So I went before the board and I just simply said, okay, everything that I need to know will flow out of me. They drilled me with a question they’re supposed to drill me with and all the questions, all the answers I was supposed to know, they came out of me. There were others who went before the board. And actually I was the only one out of the, I want to say it was around 15 who went before the board. I was the only one to actually passed the l and o and I had to. And afterwards others were like, oh, you’re able to pass because of this reason, because of that reason, because of this thing and blah blah. I’m like, no, I trusted the divine flow and I taught them how to trust the divine flow. And a year or two later, most of them went back up and they began to pass as well because they began to trust the divine flow. You got to get to the point where you know what you know because there is something flowing inside of you that will lead you, guide you to the place where you need to be and will guide every direction and we’ll order your steps.

(13:41):

We’re talking about being in sync with the divine flow. We’re talking about your velocity not getting ahead of God, but getting right there with God, not getting ahead of that which the universe needs you to do and wants you to be, but being right there so that things can unfold for you in the timing that it is supposed to unfold for you. A lot of times we want things to happen sooner than they are supposed to happen. But get this, a lot of times things don’t happen because you are not ready for it. You’re not ready for it. And when the consciousness is ready, that which is supposed to happen will happen.

(14:29):

Joel Goldsmith, he wrote a wonderful book called Consciousness is What I Am. We say by right of consciousness, I have what I have by right of consciousness. I draw into my experience the things and the people that are supposed to be in my experience. Everyone in this room right now, you are not here by accident. You’re supposed to be here. You’re supposed to be divinely connected. You’re here for a reason. You just didn’t bump into each other. And this is how it all happened. No, by right of consciousness. One of the parts of this book in particular, this chapter that I really like is the author talks about the anxious heart versus the prosperous heart.

(15:41):

Just the anxious heart is a hurried heart, always wanting more. It grabs and experiences like a greedy child, never satisfied. But she says the prosperous heart by contrast matches its pace to god’s. There is no rush praying for knowledge of God’s will. It sees that will in the pacing of his blessings savoring every moment. It feels a sense of abundance. The prosperous heart is curious. It says, let’s see where God has taken us. Let’s see where God has taken us. Not being anxious about prosperity, but placing yourself in the prosperous heart. The prosperous heart where I’m not anxious about prosperity, I’m in sync with God. And let me see where God’s going to take me right now because I know that God’s will for me is to bless me. I know that God’s will for me is to be prosperous. I know that God’s will for me is to have the best. I know that God’s will for me, but let me make sure that I am operating in God’s will and not my will let thy will be done.

(17:07):

Philippians chapter four, verses six seven says it like this says, do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Trust God when you get into the flow, don’t worry about rushing so much. Just trust God. I know of myself. I can’t do nothing. Let me trust God. I know where the universe wants to take me. And the reason I know where the universe wants to take me is because I have slowed down and I have conditioned myself to listen.

(18:09):

And as I have conditioned myself to listen and I know the voice of the universe, you got to know the voice. And it’s not an outer voice, it’s an inner voice. You got to know the voice and the voice will say, Reverend Amy, I need you to do this. Now, the outside voice or voices of others might say, you can’t do that. How can you set a goal of 135,000? How can you do that? But the inner voice says, I’m your source and I’m your supply. Trust me, trust me, because I sent you on this journey. You didn’t go on this journey. Trust me, the prosperous heart will not leave you, no forsake you, the prosperous heart.

(19:17):

So take one day at a time, take one day at a time and trust that you’ll be provided for. And let me close with this. In the Bible there’s a story about Moses leading the children out of Egypt. And it came to a place just a couple weeks after they left Egypt that they were in the wilderness and the children of Israel, they were becoming very anxious about their supply. They were becoming very anxious about how they were going to be taken care of. They were becoming very anxious because when they were in Egypt, they were well taken care of. They were fed while in Egypt, but now they have left Egypt, they have left that place and now they’re out in the wilderness. And the message came through Moses to them, the message came, the universe, God gave Moses a message to tell the children of Israel that I will give them daily manna.

(20:23):

And they are not to store up that manna. If they decide to store up that manna, it will spoil on them. So on a daily basis, God provided the man for those that tried to store up the man. It’s spoiled. What is the message there? The message is simply this. We are to trust God. We are to trust the universe. We are to trust our source for our daily supply on this journey that we’re on called life. Let’s not get too far ahead of the flow. Let’s work with the flow. And the flow will provide for you on a daily basis. The flow will provide for you on a daily basis, but you must trust the flow, work with the flow and stay in the flow. And I believe if we do those three things, I believe if we do those three things, that our confidence in the flow will become so great that we don’t even have to think about doing those things. We’ll just simply be those things and the good that we have always desired. We’ll just automatically come into our experience on a daily basis because this is the new consciousness that we have developed, that we have attained for ourselves. So let’s turn within for a moment for prayer.

(22:07):

And as we turn within right now, just simply want to say thank you God, thank you universe. Thank you source. We’re speaking to each and every one of us on an individualized basis letting us know that you’ll always be with us. You’ll always take care of us. And that we can trust you. We can trust you in knowing that you know what is best for us. And because we trust you, we stay in the flow with you. And as we stay in the flow with you, our good comes to us freely, freely, freely. There is no forcing. It’s just accepting. There is no forcing. It’s just accepting. There is no begging. It’s just accepting. It’s just saying yes to the universe. I’m open to the flow and I’m open to my good. However it is that you see fit to provide me. But I know that in the flow, prosperity abounds, I know in the flow I’m abundantly supplied. I know in the flow there are no needs. There are no wants. It’s just is. Thank you, God for your flow. Thank you, God for your flow. Thank you God for your flow. For your flow is the way we shall go. And so it is. Amen.

Typhany (24:42):

Thank you. Thank you. That was beautiful. Yes. Yes.
