OVERVIEW
On a base level, believing that we are separate leads to experiences that we perceive as wrong, or needing healing. When we remember that we are inextricably One with the Wholeness and Perfection of Spirit, we are able to experience that Wholeness and Perfection in our lives. There is nothing to be healed, only Spirit revealed.

Don’t we all have something <laugh> oh, so good to be here. My heart is full. All these people in the room and I can’t wait to see who’s online. Cityside is growing and expanding in ways that we can’t even see. So we met this week with prospective practitioner students. In case you don’t know, practitioners are the ones who, uh, do the reading in meditation, like Rob, who hold vigil like John is doing remotely today. They pray with you after service or during the week. Some of them do individual sessions, but the real key is practitioners dedicate their lives to these principles, to these teachings, to living in high consciousness. And we had 10 people interested in this program. That’s so amazing. So my heart is full. This work changed my life and it continues to shift my experience in the practitioner program. You’d take a deep dive into how things got to be the way they are really looking at ourselves, looking at our limiting beliefs and clearing, limiting beliefs and behaviors to become intentional creators of our experience. And then we learn to support others to do the same. What it really amounts to is that a practitioner is always pointing you back to God, pointing you back to spirit, back to love to the wholeness and perfection. That is the truth of your being our job is to remind you that no matter what is going on, no matter what you bring in front of us, there is nothing to be healed, only spirit revealed. And what does that mean?
When we lift ourselves in high consciousness, we transcend the human experience and what we consider problems, whether our physical health relationships money. When we lift ourselves into the realm of infinite possibilities, into the realm of spirit, everything is already perfect. And from there, something else is possible in our experience. So that was my little segue into our September theme. <laugh> healing. And we’re using this book, the art of spiritual healing. And I’m telling you, there is so much in this book. There is no way. I mean, I’m gonna cover a tiny little thread of what is in here. Joel Goldsmith, and like Ernest Holmes, Joel Goldsmith was a mystic, a true meta physician with a healing consciousness that, that lifts off the pages. He can like throw down some spiritual truth, but just a heads up. If you’re triggered by traditional language, like sometimes I can be, you’ve heard me admit that before the invitation is to replace the triggering words with words that work for you. Don’t let it take you out of the game. There is so much good in here.
A community member shared with me a couple weeks ago that after service, a couple people stayed out in the parking lot, kind of grappling with the topic, dealing with their triggers, deciding what was true for them. And I love that they stayed in the game doing their own work. And I know this is gonna sound like a little plug, but we do have that after talk on the last Sunday of the month, you can bring those questions, bring those triggers, bring that conversation. If you’re, if it’s up for you, it’s up for somebody else. But it’s just another way to stay in the game. Because if I get stuck on a word and it takes me out, and this really applies to anything that you might get hung up on, if you get stuck and it takes you out, we miss the opportunity to do our work.
We miss the opportunity to expand. So when I notice a contraction around those words, it’s my invitation to stay in the game to look at. What’s really there to do the deeper inquiry. And anytime I think that something out there needs to be different. When I wanna complain about the book or tell someone they’re wrong, let’s do the work in here before we try to change something out here or else we just add to the problem we add to the drama. Now it doesn’t mean that we don’t have things to take care of out here. It means that before we do anything out here, we wanna bring ourselves back to love back to being open to something different. Because when I think I’m right and you are wrong or something’s wrong, I’m not available for anything new. I’m not available to grow. So I have to be with my discomfort, like the song and in the context of being triggered by traditional or what I’ll call religious language. If I unravel that, that’s just my stuff, right? A large part of it is I’m afraid of what you’ll think. I’m trying to manage your experience. I’m afraid of what you’ll think of me. If I’m associated with that language, I’m not gonna unpack this. All right here. I talked about this a little bit a couple weeks ago, but it’s all just to say that before I do anything out here in the problem, I need to bring myself back to center back to love, to be open available.
For me, love is a synonym for God. Bring myself back to God, which is similar, a sort of contemporary and a, a light version of what Joel Goldsmith is talking about. In this book. I have a group of friends here, my wellness group, we spent some years in an intensive continued education program together. Some spiritual psychology. We definitely did some SP spiritual healing work through hypnotherapy, breath, work, other trans work. There’s so many ways we can do our work. And you might even know. I know more and more people who are working with psychedelics and plant medicine. It’s just another path. All the modalities, all the teachings, all the ways, all the paths lead to God, not God, out there back to ourselves, God, within like roomy, the 13th century poet and mystic says the wound is the place where the light enters you.
When we face the wound, when we face our discomfort, when we do the inquiry and opening occurs, we return to love. And even when we go astray with our seeking, when we try to fill ourselves from the outside, maybe unhealthy relationships with people, work substances, just trying to alleviate our discomfort. We may think the discomfort is from something out there, but the root of our suffering is the belief that we’re separate. I believe there’s an epidemic of depression, crazy numbers of overdoses and suicide. It’s heartbreaking. My brother died from the effects of alcohol and I’ve certainly had my own experiences of getting off track.
We can go to some dark places, but even that path ultimately leads us back home. So the thought of having 10 more people interested in doing this work, becoming practitioners, supporting people to remember that there’s a part of you that can never be hurt or harmed. The world needs more practitioners. Now, more than ever, we can all practice. We can all be practitioners, but that commitment to say, yes, this is how I’m going to live my life. I think you for your commitment now Goldsmith says in so far as one individual can show forth a measure of health, harmony, inner peace, joy satisfaction, and abundance sufficient unto their needs. In that degree is that person, the light of the world, the work of the individual impacts the collective. So while you do this work for yourself, you do it for all of us and the crux of what Joel Goldsmith tells us and what earn Holmes says. Quite simply, there is nothing to be healed. Only God revealed nothing to be healed. Only spirit love, truth revealed, and all those different words for God, all those paths, all those modalities, all point at the same thing, no matter what you call it. And no matter what path you take to get there, there’s only one thing happening.
It’s all God. Each of us is finding our way back, remembering the truth. We are individualized expressions of the one. And from this place, from this consciousness, I don’t need to unravel my triggers. I don’t have any triggers. I already know the truth of my being from this place. I am one with the wholeness and perfection of God, no matter what is going on out here. One with life, one with love and I’m fully present to this truth. There is nothing to be healed.
So Goldsmith starts off by describing what spiritual healing is. Now, mind you, the book is from 1959. So 60 plus years ago, he said until the last century healing had been the prerogative of the medical profession, but more people had recently been considering healing through prayer and had started researching and promoting various other healing modalities from spiritual healing to psychological healing, to psychic healing. And he suggested that in the next half century or so, which is now there would be a remedy for almost every physical disease he’s not wrong. And he thought, as far as physical heal, as, as healing, physical disease was concerned, there would be less need for metaphysical practitioners. But he went on to say that would not solve life’s problems because it’s not a problem of disease. Disease is only one E one of many of the types of eHarmony and discord in life. And all discord is human creation look around at the world. Oh boy, was he right? So this is a quote. I’ve modified it to be a little more gender neutral advances in medicine will not eliminate the need for spiritual healing because even with 100% success in physical healing, I do not believe that such healing will ever succeed in revealing a person’s soul to themself. When my brother was sick, I energetically brought him into my healing sessions at the wellness Institute.
He had remarkable progress. He extended his life by at least three years in large part because of that work.
But towards the end of his life, I got a clear message. You can help him heal his body, but only he can take care of his soul. And that was his path back to God. That was the route he had to go. And I hope those of us dealing with loss and grief at this time recognize when we lose a loved when it is our loss, that we are grieving, but really to feel that peace in knowing that they have made their way back. So now I’m paraphrasing <laugh>, um, that even if you were relieved of every physical or mental ailment, even if you, your finances, relationships, if everything in your life was to year satisfaction, there might still be unrest and discontent. So no matter how much happiness you might find with friends, family loved ones. You could go to bed at night and feel alone because there is a something he says with a capital S as something within each of us that longs to go home in our wellness group, we call that divine home sickness, the longing to feel our union with the divine.
And I shared a couple of weeks ago in my talk on fear that there’s a little part of me that still resists making God my primary relationship. That’s just me outing myself. I promise I’m still working on it. <laugh> but what a twist that is to have an innate longing for union with a divine, for calming that divine home sickness yet having a part that’s resisting that relationship as sort of a push pull experience. The opportunity is there to do my work on this resistance and surrender into the union with the divine. Is there anybody else here who has any resistance to their relationship with God? All right. I was thinking I wasn’t the only one, because it’s the second time in a month that I’ve had the nudge to share that idea.
One of the powerful things about affirmative prayer, we recognize we are one with God. We commune with the divine. We transcend our human experience. We tap into the infinite. We become present to the love, to the truth of our being and from there, from that place of love, from that place of remembering our union with the divine, because it’s never really not there. We just forget when we remember our union with the divine, we see and know, and ultimately can experience that in our world of form experience. We can experience this reality as Goldsmith calls it. And he says that a lot of fun is poked at metaphysics and mysticism for the words real and unreal because the world doesn’t understand the metaphysical meaning and metaphysics reality pertains to only that, which is of spirit. So we don’t experience this reality with our physical senses. It’s meta physical, beyond physical. It has to be spiritually understood. It requires our inner awareness in the spiritual realm. The discords of our physical senses have no existence.
So when we say disease is unreal, we don’t mean that it doesn’t exist in the human experience. Rather it’s a denial of the disease as part of spiritual reality. The reality of it doesn’t lessen our pain in our human senses. We still suffer from these conditions or we can, but my brother’s condition was not the truth of his being. At his essence, there was nothing wrong. He was whole, he was perfect. And I’m so grateful. I could know that for him in the beginning of wisdom, this is Goldsmith. The beginning of wisdom is the realization that these conditions don’t have to exist. All does harmony is a human creation and the experience of healing unfolds for us in direct proportion to bringing ourselves into alignment with the harmony of spirit healing is not done by seeking relief from God, from something out there. It is done by transcending the human condition by rising into the dimension of spirit, to the perfection that is already there. So we don’t pray to get something from God or to make God do something that would be foolish for us to even think that was possible. God is already perfect. Spirit is already perfect. Life is already perfect. We pray to reveal that perfection to reveal the love, the wholeness, the peace, the perfection that is already there.
We turn to the spiritual realm within and allow it to come forth into our experience. So I’m gonna take this into some practice. So invite you to take a moment and allow an area of your life, where you’re experiencing discord, disharmony, a challenge, whatever that may be, your physical health, a relationship, financial health, whatever it is, just allow this to come forward in your mind. There is nothing to be healed, only spirit revealed. So we lift ourselves into high consciousness and I invite you to take a deep breath, open your heart, open your mind, open your whole being available for love, to have its way, cultivating that connection, that communion with the divine, with love to remember you are love. As the reading stated all the music, all the art, all that has ever been known, all that will ever be known all already have already existed from the beginning. So I invite you in this moment to sit in this space of infinite possibilities and listen,
Is it you are being called to experience? How is God wanting to reveal itself in your experience? What is wanting to be made known through you, align yourself with that peace, with that harmony,Within that spiritual realm. The realm within everything is possible. Everything is already whole perfect, complete unlimited generative. As we open ourselves to allow that which has always existed, that perfection, that creation allowing it to come forward in our experience,
Bringing Forward the knowing that there is nothing to be healed, only spirit revealed, let spirit be revealed in our experience. Let the wholeness perfection, the love be revealed. Now, as we bring ourselves into harmony with the divine, it unfolds to our conscious awareness, dissolving all discord. It unfolds in our experience. It is done. And so it is.
And so it is
Thank You. Thank you,
